Pioneers of Japanese metal on the international stage, they became the first Japanese heavy metal act to sign with a major American record label, reaching the [[Billboard 200]] chart at the height of their fame in the mid-1980s. Loudness has released over 26 studio albums across more than four decades and remains active today.
