== Commercial Performance == ''Red Octopus'' was released in June 1975 and quickly climbed the charts, reaching number 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 for four non-consecutive weeks starting in September 1975. It spent a total of 69 weeks on the album chart. The lead single "Miracles" drove much of the album's success, becoming a major hit and helping the album achieve gold status by August 1975. "Play on Love" was also released as a single in 1976, charting modestly. The album's commercial peak represented the zenith of Jefferson Starship's arena rock/pop era.
