''Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black'' debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 in October 1991 and is among the group's most commercially successful records. It included a rap-metal remake of "Bring the Noise" recorded with thrash metal band Anthrax, a collaboration that helped bridge hip-hop and rock audiences and anticipate the rap-rock crossover of the mid-1990s. The group toured extensively with Anthrax in support of the record, playing to new audiences across the US and Europe.
