Ronald Balantang Delfin, professionally recognized by his stage name RHYDEMIC, is an independent Filipino rapper, singer-songwriter, and music producer who has carved out a unique space within the underground Pinoy hip-hop community. Born in the Marilog District of Davao City and raised across the scenic province of Bukidnon, his regional upbringing heavily influenced his poetic worldview and deep cultural identity. Delfin discovered his intrinsic passion for writing lyrics and structuring beats during his elementary school years, establishing a creative foundation long before he officially entered the music industry.
He first gained structural experience and local recognition as an active member of the hip-hop collective 3 Ace Rappers MNTA, where he sharpened his performance skills alongside fellow regional artists. Following the challenges and industry shifts brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, he transitioned into a dedicated solo artist to achieve total creative freedom over his own musical arrangements, mixing, and mastering.
As a self-reliant entrepreneur, Delfin laid the groundwork for his business ventures by initially launching Kiko Bataan Music Entertainment in 2018, which he successfully rebranded in 2021 into Rhydemic Music Productions, operating today as his official independent record label. His distinct artistry is defined by an emotionally raw, narrative-driven sound that seamlessly blends contemporary hip-hop rhythms with lo-fi elements, often tackling heavy themes of deep isolation, personal hardships, heartbreak, and resilience. Over the course of his solo career, he has built an impactful discography highlighted by full-length studio albums like Shadow of Loneliness and Pinagmulan, alongside widely shared underground singles such as Lampara, Masaya Kana, Ikaw Pa Rin, Pagluha, and KWDRNO(Now Place as Rank 1 in R&B Soul category in National Charts on ReverbNation).
