===Audio Streaming===
Mixcloud allows all users to browse and stream audio content uploaded on its site. Registered users can upload content such as radio shows, DJ mixes and podcasts, as well as promote and distribute their content through Mixcloud's own social networking widget. 

===Waveform Display and Timestamped Comments===
Each audio upload on Mixcloud is displayed with a waveform visualization. Listeners can leave comments tied to specific points in a recording, enabling direct interaction between creators and their audiences.

===Mixcloud Select===
Mixcloud Select is the platform's fan-to-creator subscription model. This feature allows listeners to subscribe monthly to a specific creator's profile, starting at a minimum fee of $2.99, with creators able to set higher tiers to offer exclusive perks like early access to mixes, extended shows, or bonus content. Under the subscription revenue model, creators receive 60% of the net subscription income after deductions for royalties and transaction fees. 

===Mixcloud Live===
Mixcloud Live enables creators to broadcast live audio and DJ sets to their audiences in real time. Unlike most streaming platforms, Mixcloud's licensing agreements cover live streams, allowing DJs and radio hosts to play copyrighted music without the risk of takedowns or muting.

===Mixcloud Pro===
Mixcloud Pro is a subscription tier aimed at professional creators, offering advanced analytics, scheduling tools, priority support, and enhanced monetisation and promotional features.

===No Downloads Policy===
Mixcloud prohibits users from downloading audio content from its platform for licensing reasons. Co-founder Nikhil Shah commented on this restriction: "Not offering downloads has been a challenge for us in terms of persuading the content creators to use a platform like ours."  The platform operates as a streaming-only service, ensuring royalties are attributed to rights holders on the basis of streams rather than downloads.

===Social and Community Features===
Registered members may join a group, a collection of other users who share a common interest, which will periodically update the user when new content related to the group is available.  Users can follow creators, repost content, and share tracks across other social media platforms.
